Sechenov Leaders program admission consists of three stages: submitting your documents, sitting the entrance tests and concluding a contract. This page walks through each stage and points to the official sources you should check before you start.

Step 1: Submit your documents

The first task is to get your application documents to the university. There are three ways to do this:

In person at the university in Moscow.

By post to 119991, Moscow, GSP-1, Trubetskaya Street, 8, building 2.

Online through the Russian state services portal, Gosuslugi.

Choose the method that suits your circumstances. If you are applying from abroad, the postal and online options may be more practical, but it is worth confirming the current requirements with the admissions office before sending anything. The university publishes information about the 2026 admissions campaign at https://www.sechenov.ru/admissions/priemnaya-kampaniya-2026/, and this is the best place to check what documents are expected.

Step 2: Take the entrance tests

Applicants sit two examinations, both taken as tests:

Chemistry — the priority subject.

Russian language — an additional test.

Chemistry carries the main weight, so preparation should focus there first. The Russian test is included even though the programme itself is taught in English, so applicants should plan to prepare for it as well. Exam dates, passing scores and the number of places are not set out on this page; confirm them directly with the admissions office.

A sensible approach is to treat chemistry as a long-term project rather than something to cram in the final weeks. Reviewing core topics systematically and practising with test-style questions helps you get used to the format. For the Russian test, regular practice over several months is usually more effective than intensive study shortly before the exam.

Step 3: Sign the contract and pay

Once the tests are behind you, the final step is to conclude an education contract with the university and pay the tuition fee. Only after this are you formally a student of the programme, so the earlier steps alone do not complete your enrolment. The fee for the first year is 1,500,000 roubles. It covers the full General Medicine curriculum, the additional six-year leadership programme, extra research disciplines, curator and mentor support, access to the university’s laboratories and scientific base, and participation in extracurricular activities and projects.

Before you travel

International applicants should also review the rules for entering Russia. Sechenov University maintains a migration support page at https://welcome.sechenov.ru/en/migration-support/ with guidance for incoming students. Reading it early helps you plan the timing of your arrival and avoid last-minute surprises. If anything on that page is unclear in relation to your own situation, raise it with the university well in advance.

Practical tips for applicants

A few habits make the process smoother. Keep copies of every document you submit. Note the method you used and when, especially if you send papers by post. Write down your questions as they come up and ask them in one message rather than several. For applicants in South Korea and other countries, a short, well-organised email to the programme team is usually a quicker way to clear up doubts than searching through general information.

You can read more about the track on the programme page, review the full admissions information for this site, or find phone numbers and the address on the contacts page.

For confirmed requirements and any questions about your application, visit https://healthleaders.sechenov.ru/ or email healthleaders@staff.sechenov.ru.

A step-by-step guide to Sechenov Leaders program admission, from submitting documents and taking two entrance tests to signing the education contract.

["post-1161","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry
<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.5 -
